With the bird flu, I am wondering if it is safe to transit Thailand when
I return to Australia, next week, from Europe. I am schedule to stop over
for a few hours in Bangkok. Should I be concerned about catching this new
bird flu when going via Bangkok?

Don't be a chicken!!
No need to afriad of a flu which has killed only a handful
of people!

I don't see how you will catch the flu if you remain inside
a buidling, a safe distace from poultry farms. The cases
of human-to-human birdflu spread seem to be very rare.

On the other hand, maybe you should not opt for the
chicken meal on your flight from BKK .. ...

If you really want to play safe them you can try to
fly with Emirates as that is (at least) one airline which does not
make a stop in east-asia en route Australia.
